About Me

Hello! My name is Anthony, and welcome to my blog. I was born in San Jose, California, and moved to Mount Vernon, Washington, when I was 3 (though I still go back to San Jose a lot!). I now live in Seattle, in the Central District (a few blocks east of downtown) with my partner, Alison, and my Chihuahua from hell, Dotty. In my spare time, I write poetry and give poetry readings around Seattle. I love going out to eat (mostly because I’m a terrible cook!). My favorite foods are Korean and Vietnamese (and pretzel M&Ms). I also love listening to music (mostly jazz) and going for long hikes with my two nephews. On an embarrassing note, when I was 12, I wanted to be a clown, so I can juggle, do magic tricks, and make balloon animals.

I can’t believe this is already my sixth year teaching! I taught English for two years at Western Washington University, two years at Seattle University, a year at Portland community colleges, and now here, full time, at GRCC. This is only my second quarter at GRCC, but so far, it’s been fantastic! The campus is beautiful and the students are fun, interesting, and eager to learn. I am so excited for quarter and eager to learn more about all of you.
